A Pretty Un-bogus Journey

We went on a walk (we seem to have a reoccurring theme here) up in the mountains and we got to see a monastery (no monks; we only saw the outside), a small chapel, and a beautiful view!

Can you see the tiny dot on the top of that far mountain?  Yeah, the one waaay over there.  Those are the ruins of a tower.  If you can't see where this is going, don't feel bad, because I didn't.

We had gotten up the mountain by car and had walked about for a bit.  That picture was taken from the location of the car.

Yes, my legs were sore the following day, why do you ask?

So Tio, two cousins, Myxl and I walked, climbed, slid, goofed, and generally fought our way to the peak.

And back.
I got a hand full of prickers (spiny plants seem to flourish in those mountains), My brother almost got down the mountain the hard way, one of our cousins nearly got lost, we were all tired and ached by the time we got to the half-way point, and I had been wearing white shorts.  In other words, we all had a great time.  Plus, we got a rock as a souvenir, so that was great.

Hello!  I got a rock.  Anyway, as Klenda said, we went to a great chapel!  Here's the view from inside as well as a view from the top of the mountain:

Shutter speed of one second.  That was kind of tricky.

We had an absolutely fantastic time!  This was one of my favorite visits so far.  According to Tio, it's over a thousand years old!  It's really a great experience to go to a different country and see some castles, especially since America didn't have any.
